Nick Foles stays hot ; Eagles hold off Cards for key win

Another sharp performance by Nick Foles and tough defense at the end kept the Philadelphia Eagles on a roll.

Foles threw three touchdown passes and the Eagles held on for a 24-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Zach Ertz had two TD catches, LeSean McCoy ran for 79 yards to help the Eagles (7-5) win their fourth straight game to remain tied with Dallas for first place in the NFC East.
Carson Palmer threw for 302 yards and three TD passes, but also had two interceptions and lost a fumble as the Cardinals (7-5) had their four-game winning streak snapped.
Foles picked up where he left off in November, when he was the NFC's Player of the Month and tied an NFL record with seven TDs in a game. Foles finished 21 of 34 for 237 yards against a defense that came in ranked eighth in the league.

This week in Celebrity Twitpics

Lindsay Lohan was working on her pre-Thanksgiving cooking skills, and boy, if her turkey looked anything like her concoction she posted on Instagram, we bet her Thursday night dinner went off without a hitch!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, there were a whole bunch of celebrity photos on social media this past week that we were very thankful for! While you endlessly munch on leftovers, take a look at some of our other favorite pics!

Top NFL Draft Prospects

The NFL draft is in May, but the SEC Championship Game will give us a great preview of a number of interesting pro prospects next Saturday.
The Missouri Tigers enter with an impressive 11-1 record after winning a close game against the Texas A&M Aggies, but that doesn't even come close to what the Auburn Tigers have done. They went just 3-9 last season, but now, they're 11-1 after pulling off the incredible win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

While the game itself is bound to be a great one, there are also a number of NFL prospects to watch for in the conference championship. Let's take a look at just a few of these players, breaking them down and projecting where they could land in May.

Kelly Rutherford Custody Battle

Kelly Rutherford's custody battle with her ex-husband is so hateful … they're now under a court order to speak politely to each other, and get this -- in certain situations they're legally required to follow a SCRIPT!

The custody orders -- obtained by TMZ -- spell out precisely what Rutherford and her ex, Daniel Giersch, can and can't say … and how to behave around their 2 young children.
The docs order them to "exchange polite and friendly greetings."  And Giersch, who's German, has to speak in English whenever they meet for the hand off.  -- so he can't trash her in a foreign language without her knowledge.
If a kid doesn't want to leave one parent ... there's a drill for that, too ... the adults must follow a script that's actually included in the court order:
"Have a great time with [other parent]. I'll talk to you tomorrow," and will say to the other parent, "[Name], please come and help me."
The script thing may sound crazy, but hey, Kelly IS an actress.

Roar Of The Rings

If there was any doubt in your mind about how Val Sweeting would meet the competition at the Roar Of The Rings, there shouldn't be now.
Her nine end, 10-3 win over reigning Canadian national champion Rachel Homan in the opening draw of the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials is surprising. Not surprising that she was able to win (although considered to be at least a mild upset). But that she and teammates Dana Ferguson, Joanne Courtney and Rachelle Pidherny won so easily is shocking.
Their solid play, along with Team Homan's struggles, combined to make it an opening draw blowout. It leads to two questions: Is Sweeting for real? And, how does Team Homan bounce back after losing a game in such resounding fashion? After all, Homan's squad is used to laying that kind of a numbing beating on opponents, not the other way around.
Considered by many to be the longest shot on the board (including me, I must admit) on the women's side, Sweeting took advantage of a wobbly start to the competition by Homan (who curled an eyebrow-raising 60%) and her crew.
Sweeting, the 26 year old skip who curled for Alberta at the 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, made the trials the hard way, picking her way through a tough pre-trials field last month and beatingKelly Scott in the game that scanned her ticket to Winnipeg. That win was impressive, including a cool draw in the tenth to score one and close out a 6 -4 win. Sweeting was tops again in draw one at The Roar, throwing 86% on the day.

Speed a factor in crash that killed 'Fast & Furious' actor Paul Walker

Investigators sought to determine the cause of a fiery crash that killed "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker while the 40-year-old actor's fans erected a makeshift memorial Sunday near where the Porsche he was riding in smashed into a light pole and tree.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said speed was a factor in Saturday's one-car crash, though it will take time to determine how fast the car was going.

Because Walker is so closely associated with the underground culture of street racing portrayed in the popular "Fast & Furious" film franchise, the fatal accident had an eerie quality -- a tragic end for a Hollywood hero of speed.

Toronto Maple Leafs dig hole to deep in loss

The Toronto Maple Leafs had many reasons to be upset Saturday night, but it was Max Pacioretty’s showboating that stood out the most.
Pacioretty celebrated his second goal of Montreal’s 4-2 victory over the Leafs on Saturday night by twirling his stick and pretending to sheathe it like a sword.
The goal stirred our emotions a bit,” said Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle. “If they want to hot dog, spin the sword, those kind of things … That was what stirred the pot.”
You don’t really like to see that kind of stuff,” added Toronto forward James van Riemsdyk.
Pacioretty put the Canadiens up 4-0 at that point, and coach Carlyle thought the celebration was exactly what his Leafs needed.
