Valentines Day in Korean Way

In celebrating of Valentines Day in Korea, it has three part: The first part is the Valentines Day, second is the White Day and the last one is the Black Day. Valentines Day is one of the most favorite holiday because of commercialization. The commercials use it, to advertise perfumes , candies and chick flakes but instead of the boys figuring out what they're buying for their girlfriends , it's the other way around.

They celebrating Valentine's Day on February 14th , it is time for Korean women to show how they feel. Korean women with their sparkly bows, ruffled dresses and four inch heels are the one's bringing chocolates to their boyfriends and crushes. In Korea, the girls had to brave making the first move, one that wouldn't be reciprocated in kind. Atleast , not until the next month.

March 14th is the day for celebrating White Day, it is boy's opportunity or duty to response to the gifts they received on Valentines day. There is some sense of obligation in the gift. In fact, the expectation is that the man return with a gift of greater value than he was given the month before.

In Korea, single people have got a holiday, too—Black Day, on April 14th. This is the day singles head to their local Chinese restaurant to eat a dish of black noodles (jajangmyeon)—noodles covered in black bean sauce.  This holiday could become quite a success internationally, as singles often use Valentine’s Day itself to gather, dressed in black, and drink and party.

Perfect Valentine's Day Ideas For Singles

Chocolate, flowers and other stuff are not on the list . Here are some tips for singles out there to make your day to be perfect day even though you are single. Don't ever do the Boyfriend/Girlfriend bonfires(burning all the gift or other stuff of you ex-boyfriends/girlfriend) or consumption of copious dark chocolate. This are the list that you can do this valentines without bitterness.

           Indulgein yourself
  • Since Valentines is all about love, spending the day loving yourself makes perfect sense. Play your favorite games(just leave early from work) and do what ever you want, pamper yourself by eating you favorite foods, watch you favorite movie.

  • if you doesn't like to indulge yourself, you can use that day to finish (or start)something you've been meaning to tackle like rearrange your stuff or clean your room .

  • Go for the things that you are interested like if you want to learn how to cook then enroll in cooking school. Challenge yourself to do something you haven't done before to learn or to improve yourself.

  • Studies show that kindness spreads, so start an epidemic. Give Valentines cards or candies to those close to you, like co-workers and friends, as well as those not so close to you, like the crew who serves you your foods. Become a volunteer and help those less fortunate than you. Seeing a face light up from your small gesture will fill you with love and make the world a better place.

Being single is not a problem this Valentine's Day

The most important message that singles should remember on Valentine's Day is that Love in not for couples ; it is for all of us.

Here are the following ways that single men and women can enjoy Valentine's Day without worrying about pressures and pitfalls that often come with the holiday:

  1. Do not define yourself by your relationship status. Remember you status is not your identity.
  2. If you are single because of a recent loss, allow this to be a day of grieving. Do not pretend that it's not a hard day. Get some support and sympathy from the people surrounds you.
  3. Realize that Valentine's Day is a commercial holiday. It is not about love or relationships: Remember it is about spending by buying flowers, chocolates , candies or jewelry. Think of all the money you are saving.
  4. Plan will in advance to do something that will not place you in the path of billing and cooing couples. Even if you usually like dining out alone, do something else on Valentine's Day.
  5. Get together with the people who do you love you like friends , family members or other close to you.
  6. If you are single and you don't want to be start now to think about what is in the way to you to creating the relationship you want. Find ways to work on becoming the person your dream partner would fall in love with you.
  7. If you are single and you like it, now is the time to affirm your choice.

Romantic Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Valentine'sDay traditions are braid with symbols of love and gifts given on this special day. Modern celebrations are a little more toned down but the symbols you can be just as meaningful- if you get it right.

The Valentine's Day gift you choose for your loved one says a lot about the quality of your relationship. Gifts from the heart don't have to be expensive to be remembered with love throughout the years.

Gifts like flowers or chocolate won't last forever but here are some ideas to express your forever love with gifts that last or that create memories that will survive the years.

Giveflowers that will last forever. If you have some talent when it comes to painting or drawing, framed originals are wonderful. Silk or glass flowers really will last forever. If your beloved has a green thumb, give flowering plants to put in the
garden to enjoy year after year. If you have space, a spring flowering tree or shrub is an annual reminder of your gift of love.
  • Take a walk down memory lane for a tribute to everlasting love. Create a "recollection collection" scrapbook filled with favorite photographs, love letters, keepsakes from special occasions, and cherished mementos that have special meaning to the two of you.
  • They say that love is friendship set to music, so what better gift than a collection of your favorite songs as a couple. Your mix should include love songs that you both enjoy listening to and special songs that put your feelings into words. If you want to spend some money on the gift, buy some romantic CDs, classic videos or DVDs of romantic movies, and wrap them all together with a big red ribbon.
  • Jewelry is always a good idea. Start with taking time to notice if your love prefers gold, silver or platinum. Buying the right base means you pay attention to important details. If your budget is limited, costume jewelry or plated items are fine. A heart-shaped locket is a tender gift for the woman you love. Have it engraved with her initials and hide a picture of yourself or you as a couple inside. A classic sterling silver ID bracelet or cuff links with his name or initials custom-engraved tells a man he is special. A heart-shaped box for guys or bright paper wrapping tied to fresh flowers make the perfect presentation.
  • OK, it may not be the most original idea, but if you do it right... it can be a gift that is treasured forever. Create your own Valentine’s Day card. Compose a poem or an expression of love that expresses your personality, make a photo collage that captures your special together moments, scan the tickets from your first date, a copy of your wedding invitation, a picture of the restaurant you think of as "your special place". Hallmark has some nice sentiments, but only you know the special moments to celebrate in your life together.
  • Prepare your loved one’s favorite dinner and serve it on a romantically set table and dine by candlelight on Valentine’s Day. For the sweetheart with a sweet tooth, make a decadent dessert such as a chocolate fondue with melted chocolate mixed with a touch of heavy cream, and serve it with fruit or cookies.
  • The gift of togetherness is as precious now as it was in Roman days. If you are in a serious relationship, plan a romantic, surprise weekend travel getaway. If you haven't reached the 'travel as a couple' stage of your relationship, take lessons together to share in each other’s interests. How does the idea of sharing flying lessons sound? What about race car driving, sky diving or kayaking? There are so many once in a lifetime moments to share -- start planning some memories together this Valentine's Day!
  • Take a step beyond those sweet little candy hearts and give your sweetie a long lasting personalized gift for a favorite hobby such as mounted personalized golf or tennis balls that say, “I love you,” “You’re a hit!” or “Be mine.”
