Best Buy Warns Promotions could squeeze holiday margins

Best Buy Co Inc warned of an increasingly promotional environment heading into the holidays and promised to be competitive on price in the biggest selling season of the year, raising concerns about margins in the fourth quarter.

Earlier on Tuesday, discounter Wal-Mart Stores Inc announced it will match select Black Friday offers on toys and electronic items from rivals Target Corp, Toys R Us Inc and Best Buy starting as early as a week before the big shopping day.

Tornados Level Homes in Illinois Towns, Multiple Deaths Confirmed

Several tornadoes ripped through parts of northernand central Illinois late Sunday morning to leave a trail of destruction that included leveled home, overturned cars, several dozen injured and at least three fatalities.

Tornadoes were reported in Washington , Pekin , Peoria and other towns.

Toronto Outbreak , Widespread Damaging Winds

A major outbreak of tornadoes and damaging winds is underway across much of the Midwest. The storms will eventually roll into parts of the Noertheast later tonight.

The Cincinnati , Cleveland , Columbus(Ohio) , Nashville and Luisville, Ky are among the major cities still at risk.

Powerful thunderstorms approaching Midland

The National Weather Service warns that a line of “strong thunderstorms” are rapidly approaching communities in Bay, Midland , Saginaw and Shaiwassee counties.

According to a special weather statement issued at 3:35 pm. Sunday November 17 National Weather Service Doppler radar shows the line of thunderstorms running north to south from near Clare to just north of Lansing.

The storms are capable of producing “winds up to 600 mph” and “heavy downpours ,” according to the statement from the NWS.

Rob Ford spoofed on SNL

Trusting 'CBS reporters' tells Toronto mayor she believes his denials of drug use .

Saturday Night Live has joined its late night TV brethern in claiming a stake in the Rob Ford comedy gold mine,lampooning Toronto's embattled mayor over his erratic behaviour.

The NBC show opened with cast member Bobby Moynihan portying Ford in a skirt that parodied the Mayor's repeated public apologies for such things as smoking crack, buying drugs, driving after drinking and using vulgar language on live TV.

The ford character would issue a chastened apology for actions unbecoming and then quickly follow it with an expletive laced rant against his critics. At one point Moynihan ducks behind the lectern to do a drug deal, and then is heard exclaiming “ WOW! … that's a lot of crack.”
