'Finding Dory' coming in fall 2015

Last Tuesday , Disney announced that its follow-up to 2003's Oscar-winningsplash hit “Finding Nemo” will be titled “Finding Dory” and will focus on the loveable, little blue tang fish voices by EllenDeGeneres. The movie , which will be directed by original “Nemo” co-director Andrew Stanton , will hit theaters on Nov. 25, 2015.

"I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time," DeGeneres said in a release. "I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating "ToyStory 16." But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is -- it's got a lot more Dory."

"FindingDory" will apparently take place about a year after the events of "Nemo" Characters including Marlin, Nemo and the "Tank Gang" will all be back, though Pixar didn't specify whether actors including Albert Brooks and Willem Dafoe will return to voice them.
They did, however, say that the story will be partially set along the California coastline, and will feature several new characters -- "including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory's life."
"Finding Nemo" reportedly earned $380,843,261 at the domestic box office and an additional $540,900,000 at the international box office, for a total worldwide gross of $921,743,261. That's pretty impressive for a movie about some little fishes that had a production budget of $94 million. It also won the 2003 Academy Award for best animated feature.
The film is the latest in Pixar's plethora of sequels, including three "Toy Story" films and two "Cars" installments, and a prequel to "Monsters Inc.," titled "MonstersUniversity," to be released this summer.
That's all dandy, but DeGeneres may have raised a good point -- a little more Dory, a lot sooner, would have likely gone over just swimmingly with "Nemo" fans.
Tell us: Are you excited for "Finding Dory"? Are you glad that Ellen DeGeneres will have an even bigger role?

White House April Fools Day prank

It was billed as a “special message” from President Barack Obama.

But the president who walked out to the podium barely reached the microphones.
The White House’s AprilFools video turned out to be a dispatch from 9-year-old Robbie Novak, also known as the Kid President. The White House got people to tune in by tweeting, “This morning, the White House released a special video message from the President” with a link to the page.
After stepping to the mikes with “Hail to the Chief” playing, the Kid President says, “You look like were expecting somebody else. AprilFools on all y’all.”
I’m the kid president, and I hope everyone has an awesome day,” he says, adding: “It’s everyone’s dream to give the world a reason to dance.”
Novak’s videos went viral earlier this year – they’ve been viewed millions of times on YouTube. He told CNN’s “Starting Point” in January his goal is to inspire people to make “the world awesome” and to “be a party.”

Lindsay Lohan: I'm Not Pregnant

Lindsay Lohan wants everyone to relax.
Hours after the starlet tweeted that she was expecting her first child (“It’s official. Pregnant…”), she took to Twitter to clear up the rumor.

April Fools,” the 26-year-old starlet wrote. “Where’s everyone’s sense of humor?”
Though with Lohan, anything is possible. On March 18, the actress, who now boasts several mug shots for various infractions, accepted a plea deal that requires her to spend 90 days in a rehabilitation facility, stemming from a June 2012 car accident. She has pleaded no contest to recklessdriving and lying to police after crashing her Porsche.

Lohan has also been working. On March 26, she tweeted that she was filming an episode of Charlie Sheen’s FX comedy Anger Management, and two days later, she flew to Brazil.
Who has time to have a baby in the middle of all of that?

Yahoo buys Summly website from 17-years-old tech whiz for $30 million

Nick D'Aloisio is your typical high school kid- he has a girlfriend , his mom is on his case to clean his room, and he has a curfew.

But he did just sell his tech startup for about $30 Million. The 17-years-old Brit is the founder of Summly, a mobile app he developed that searches for snippets of news and makes them better suited formobile devices- which D'Aloisio sold to yahoo.

He will now work for Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and become the company’s youngest employee.

D’Aloisiobuilt Summly from his bedroom when he was just 15 and attracted big investors like Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing and Ashton Kutcher.
His mobile app was a hot pickup for Yahoo!, and D’Aloisio said it took months to come to terms.

There were other big Internet companies interested, but Yahoo! was the most appropriate,” the teenager told The Post yesterday. “Yahoo! is just one of these classic companies.”
The price was not disclosed, but AllThingsD reported it was $30 million — 90 percent in cash and 10 percent in stock.

Yahoo! in turn gets a new mobile product as part of its broader strategy to entrench its brand on smartphones and tablets.

Yahoo! has an inspirational goal to make people’s daily routines entertaining and meaningful, and mobile will be a central part of that vision,” D’Aloisio said in his blog post announcing the acquisition. “For us, it’s the perfect fit.”

Heads-up: Lollapalooza tix are on sale

Well, that was ridiculously quick. Three-day passes have already sold out! If you wanna go, you'll have to buy single-daytickets orVIP tix (and probably soon).

If you plan on attending the grand and sweaty affair that is Lollapalooza, take note that passes to this year's festival are now on sale.

Now, here's the rub: The full lineup won't be announced until April 9, so if you buy now, you'll just have to assume it'll be worth the cash. GregKot at the ChicagoTribune managed to confirm a few of the acts, including Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, the Killers, the Postal Service and the National.
A regular three-day pass will set you back $235. If you're looking for something fancier (like food, shade and nicer restrooms), VIP/Platinum passes start at $1,050.
Lollapalooza takes place Aug. 2-4 in Chicago's Grant Park. Check Twitter, the official site and/or Facebook for next month's lineup announcement.
Although I've attended Lolla many times, I admit I'll probably stay home this year and watch the sets online. I always had a great time at the fest, but I've become too old and grumpy to handle the inevitable sunburn/torrential downpour that comes with it!

What's That Red Equal-Sign on Facebook All About?

They’re popping up on Facebook news feeds around the nation, but without much explanation. Just what are those red equal-sign Facebook profilepictures all about? Look no further than the Human Rights Campaign, an organization in support of gay marriage that is running a particularly successful social media initiative as the Supreme Court discusses the issue over the next two days.
In a Facebook post today, the HRC asked gay marriage supporters to “paint the town red,” wearing red in their wardrobe as well on their Facebook pages, changing profile photos over to the HRC “=” logo. The idea has even caught the eyes of Congress, with 13 members showcasing the symbol, according to Ryan Beckwith.

“The voice” Shakira and Usher debut strong in ratings

How did NBC’s The Voice perform for Monday night’s big return premiere with Usher and Shakira in the red chairs?
It depends on which comparison you use. Last night’s TheVoice spring kickoff had 13.4 million viewers and a 4.7 rating among adults 18-49, easily winning the night.

Normally you would stack those numbers against the show’s Monday premiere on the same night last year. But that episode was a day after NBC aired the Super Bowl and had a giant 6.7 adult demo rating. So it’s down 30 percent from that. Another comparison (and in this case, NBC would argue, the more fair one) is the show’s season 3 premiere last fall, which had a 4.2 rating. So it’s up 12 percent from that round.

Overall, I say this is a good number for the show — especially since the series swapped out half its judging panel, with Xtina and Cee Lo expected to rerun in the fall. How often do you see a judges panel shakeup without a ratings drop from the show’s previous cycle? And given NBC’s recent severe ratings woes, some wondered if TheVoice return would suffer. But clearly fans are fully capable of turning on NBC again when the broadcast network has a show they actually want to see.

And since some of you below are debating these Voice numbers vs. Fox’s AmericanIdol this season, here’s some help: Last night’s Voice is down 22 percent from Idol‘s January premiere. But it’s higher than every Idol episode since January.

The return of Revolution, however, is bit less sunny. After a four-month break, the freshman adventure-drama returned to 7.2 million viewers and a 2.7 rating. That’s down 13 percent from the show’s prior average, yet was still easily enough to win 10 p.m.

Meanwhile Fox’s The Following continued its decline to a season low — down 8 percent this week. The Voice put the hurt on ABC’s DancingWith the Stars, which dropped 28 percent this week. On CBS, The Voice seemed to pressure the network’s 8 p.m. hour, with HowI Met Your Mother dipping 10 percent to a season low.
