How to have an Acne Free Face?

Everyone wants to have a acne free face. But let's face it – not everyone is willing to do the things that are necessary to free your complexion from dirt, oil and inflammation.
This is the number 1 rule! Pimples contain nasty bacteria. If you pop your pimples that bacteria has a chance of getting inside other pores and giving them a place to stay without charging rent, so to speak . Make your pimples pay rent. Another disadvantage of popping pimples is that the skin around the pimple and the pimple itself will become inflammation will cause even more redness and pain.
Your hands ( no matter how many times you scrub them) have oils and dirt on them and are vectors of bacteria. If you're constantly whipping that dirt oil and bacteria back into your face , chances are it's not going to respond too well.
Many doctors recommend that you drink between 9 and 12 cups of water per day (2.2 to 3 liters), depending on whether you are a girl or guy.(Women should drink 9 cups, men should drink 12.) Your skin is an organ in your body, too, and like your kidney, it needs adequate amounts of water to function properly.
  • Cut sweet, sugary drinks like sodas, juices, and smoothies out of your diet. Although the evidence has been disputed for decades, new reports seem to indicate that diets do have a substantial effect on acne, listing sugar as a trigger.Sugars cause a spike in insulin, which in turn stimulates certain pimple producing hormones.
  • Drink less milk. Milk, too, has recently been implicated as an acne-producing agent. Milk stimulates male sex hormones — testosterone and androgen — that, along with insulin, cause nasty pimples.
  • Unsweetened green tea may be helpful, too. Green tea contains tons of antioxidants that help fight free radicals; free radicals affect the cells that may be responsible for signs of aging in the skin. For a healthy alternative to water, brew some tasty and healthy green tea!
Diet can help your complexion look its best if you let it. There's nothing amazing about the following sentence, and you can probably guess what it's going to be: eat more fruits and vegetables, more healthy fats, and experiment with probiotics.
  • People who eat more fruits and veggies, and less milk and sugar, tend to have less acne.Make sure you get 5 to 9 servings of healthy vegetables (especially leafy greens) per day.
  • Eat omega-3 fatty acids. There's fat, and then there's healthy fat. Healthy fats, like omega-3s, help fight inflammation and promote healthy cells.Omega-3s are damaged by oxygen, meaning if you eat foods that are rich in omega-3s, try to eat them raw. In a pinch, baked or broiled is better than boiling or fried. Foods rich in omega-3s include:
    • Fish, particularly salmon, sardines, and herring.
    • Seeds and nuts, particularly flaxseed.
    • Leafy greens, particularly spinach and arugula.
  • Consider probiotics. Probiotics are healthy bacteria found in certain foods, such as kombucha, that promote good digestive health and cut down inflammation. Probiotics such as lactobacillus may improve acne. Look for probiotics at your local grocer's or natural health store.
This one is another no-brainer. The right kind of vitamins will help your body create vibrant, wonderful skin and fight acne to boot. Vitamin-A has been particularly effective in promoting healthy skin. Do not take vitamin-A if you are pregnant.
  • Try evening primrose oil. Evening primrose oil is an anti-inflammatory omega-6 fat, a deficiency of which may cause acne.Take 1000 to 1500mg twice a day.
  • Try zinc citrate. Zinc citrate helps with protein synthesis, wound healing, and normal tissue function. Take 30 mg a day.
  • Try vitamin-E. Critical for skin health, vitamin-E is low in many acne sufferers.Take 400 IU (international units) a day.
Washing your face too much will only make your face dry, causing your face to produce more oils, which unfortunately equals more acne.
  • Moisturize after each time you wash your face. Washing strips the moisture from your skin as it fights the acne-producing bacteria. Ensure that you give your skin the moisture it needs, even if you have naturally oily skin.
    • Use moisturizers that are non-comedogenic. This simply means that they won't clog your pores. You don't want your moisturizer to clog pores right after you've cleaned them.
    • If you do happen to have naturally oily skin, try looking for a gel-based moisturizer. These kinds of moisturizers, as opposed to cream-based moisturizers, won't make your skin feel as clammy and oily.
What is a toner? A toner is a lotion or wash that helps shrink your pores while cleaning grime and dirt away. Be careful about toners with alcohol because they will wipe away the oil from your face. This causes more oil to be produced, along with more acne. Find a toner that is low on alcohol but still effective.

Doctors aren't completely sure why, but they do know that there is a link between stress and skin disorders, specifically stress and acne. Somehow, the cells that produce sebum, which is the stuff that ultimately causes acne, become unregulated when a person experiences a lot of stress.
  • Find creative outlets for your stress. Some people detach from stressful situations by taking a walk. Others pour their stress out onto a canvas by painting. Whatever it is that you do to decompress, do it early and do it often.
  • Try meditation techniques. There are numerous meditation techniques, so find the one(s) that work for you. Some people choose yoga for meditation.

Why is sleep important? A recent study found that psychological stress increases by 14% for every hour of sleep you lose a night. As we learned above, stress can have a deleterious effect on skin, causing acne.
Speaking of sleep, change your pillowcase on a regular basis. Consider wrapping your pillowcase in a towel to absorb oil. You can flip the towel over the next night.
  • Young and elderly people need more sleep than adults. Teenagers should try to get between 10 to 11 hours of sleep per night.
For pretty much any ailment aside from muscle or bone damage, exercise is a panacea. Exercise is a great option for getting your circulation going, and anything that promotes good circulation also helps keep your skin healthy and vibrant-looking.A couple things to remember when you exercise:
  • Always wear sunscreen if exercising outdoors. The benefits of getting your circulation jump started can be outweighed by the disadvantages of sun damage if you're not careful. Wear sunscreen that is light and doesn't irritate or sting your skin.
  • Shower or clean yourself after you exercise. When you sweat, your pores can get clogged with salty, dirty residue that's leftover from your workout. Be sure to wash your body, and especially your face, after you exercise.

Lindsey Vonn made fun of Tiger Woods' sex addiction

When the new couple announced their relationship in public on Monday , the first though was of an incident from three years before, when the olympic star was caught making jokes at woods expense while he was on the first leg of his apology tour.
In comments recorded by Sean Gregory of Time on the day Tiger held his public mea culpa for his 2009 sex scandal, Vonn poked fun at her current boyfriend's sex addiction and joked about how she wanted to parody him on Saturday Night Live.
The jokes made headlines both because of their timing, Vonn was in the middle of her star turn at the 2010 Olympics when Tiger made his apology.;
From Time.com on Feb 19 2010
And like millions of Americans, Vonn can't help poking fun at Woods' staged event. When a member of her Vonn-tourage tells her that Woods gave a few friends hugs after ending his statement, she cracks, "They're like, 'Yeah, you're awesome, you go have that sex.' " The room breaks into a laugh. Then she describes a skit she would want to perform if asked to host Saturday Night Live: picture Vonn at Woods' podium, blue backdrop and all. "There's something you don't know about me," Vonn says in a faux solemn, apologetic voice. "Tiger, you're like my idol, and I too have a sex problem." More laughter. "That would be freaking funny."
With comedic chops like that, it should come as little surprise that Vonn never got that SNL invite.
Later in the piece, Gregory asks Vonn how she'll deal with the media microscope in a post-Tiger world.
"Well, I'm married, so I don't have that problem," she replied. "But, um, I guess [Woods] is married, too."
Both sporting stars began divorce proceedings within the next two years.
The comments were harmless then and are harmless now. They drew attention because Vonn was at the height of her popularity and because most athletes stayed away from publicly commenting on Tiger's troubles.
It's clearly not a big deal now. If Tiger held grudges against everyone who made a joke at his expense during that rocky period in his life, he wouldn't be able to date anyone.

As Lululemon recallls too-sheer black yoga pants

visual-eyes.ca
Lululemon Athletics Inc.'s Problem isn't just that a batch of it's black yoga pants were made too sheer and had to be recalled- the popular retailer is now downgrading its financial predictions and watching its stock do a downward dog.
The Vancouver, B.C., company said late Monday that it pulled the women’s pants from its stores and e-commerce sites over the weekend after learning that the material was too revealing. The Luon fabric is produced in Vietnam and Taiwan and made with a mix of nylon and Lycra spandex fibers.
In a lengthy FAQ posted on its website, the chain said it was still investigating how a batch of too-skimpy pants was allowed to reach stores in early March. Lululemon hasn’t changed its manufacturers or ingredient quality since 2004, it said.
Or in the company's words: “The ingredients, weight and longevity qualities of the women’s black Luon bottoms remain the same but the coverage does not, resulting in a level of sheerness in some of our women’s black Luon bottoms that fall short of our very high standards.”
Lululemon is now offering affected customers full refunds or exchanges while also warning of an impending shortage of black yoga pants. The recalled apparel makes up 17% of the women’s pants and crop pants Lululemon sells in stores.
But it’s more than practitioners' poses being affected – Lululemon said the “issue will have a significant impact” on its financials.
The company lowered its expectations for an 11% increase in same-store sales and revenue between $350 million and $355 million for its first fiscal quarter. Now, Lululemon is projecting a 5% to 8% same-store sales range and revenue between $333 million and $343 million.
The company will unveil its fourth quarter and full-year earnings on Thursday. But already, analyst Sam Poser of Sterne, Agee & Leachdowngraded Lululemon’s shares to a neutral rating from buy, telling investors to back off until quality-control concerns are alleviated.
Lululemon had been riding a recent surge in demand for women’s athletic wear, along with competitors such as GapInc.’s Athleta,UnderArmour Inc. and even mass-market retailers such as Forever 21 and Victoria’s Secret.
In early morning trading, Lululemon stock fell as much as 5.9%; as of 9:15 PDT, it was down $3.60, or 5.5%, to $62.30.

Apple Turnovers

In a small bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in 1/4 cup butter until crumbly. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork until a ball forms. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 12-in. x 6-in. Rectangle.
Cut remaining butter into thin slices. Starting at a short side of dough, arrange half of the butter slices over two-thirds of rectangle to within 1/2 in. of edges. Fold unbuttered third of dough over middle third. Fold remaining third over the middle, forming a 6-in. x 4-in. rectangle. Roll dough into a 12-in. x 6-in. Rectangle.
Repeat steps of butter layering and dough folding, ending with a 6-in. x 4-in. rectangle. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 15 minutes. Roll dough into a 12-in. x 6-in. rectangle. Fold in half lengthwise and then widthwise. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Add apples and lemon juice; toss to coat. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring often. Remove from the heat.
In a small bowl, combine egg and water. Roll dough into a 12-in. square; cut into four squares. Brush with half of the egg mixture. Spoon about 1/4 cup filling on half of each square; fold dough over filling. Press edges with a fork to seal. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with remaining egg mixture. With a sharp knife, cut three small slits in the top of each turnover.
Bake at 450° for 17-22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack. Combine glaze ingredients; drizzle over turnovers. Serve warm.

America starts filling out March Madness Brackets

Professor Michael Magazine is upending the logical world of math with a good dose of March Madness.
Magazine teaches a new class called Bracketology at University of Cincinnati, the home of the 10th-seeded Bearcats, where 33 business students are spending the semester trying to make sense out of what can feel nonsensical at times — the art of filling out an NCAA tournament bracket.
"The life lesson is that we make a lot of decisions that are the right decisions," Magazine says, "but the outcomes don't always come out the way we planned."
And that's why picking the NCAA tournament is so much fun.
Magazine says that, yes, he's among the millions of Americans who take part in the country's largest office pool — where all you need is a pen, a copy of the bracket and $10 or $20 to get in on the action.
Realbasketball knowledge? That's optional. Some people pick their favorite mascot, others go based on color, still others just throw darts at a board.
"I always tell people to ignore where they went to school," Magazine says. "But it's hard to do."
He teaches the course with a Cincinnati alum, Paul Bessire, who owns predictionmachine.com, a program that runs thousands of simulations to forecast likely winners of games. Armed with that, along with some mathematical models, Magazine and Bessire hold three sessions — handicapping, assembling brackets, filling out the brackets and seeing how everyone did.
