Santa Clause Parade

Thousands cheered and clapped and shouted out their gift request to Santa while floats made their way from Christie Pits down to St. Lawrence Market.

Mother goose and all her little goslings smiled and waved , tween pop icons One Direction made an appearance in larger-than-life bobblehead form and a giant octopus squiggled his way from Christie Pits down to the St. Lawrence Market as part of this year's Santa Claus Parade.

But fittingly , it was Father Christmas and his raindeer that were the day's big hit.

Thousands cheered and clapped and shouted out their gift requests to a passing Saint Nick who slowed his reindeer to give seasons greetings and shout out the names of greeful little boys and girls reassurance they'd made his coveted 'nice' list.
