Last weekend Brian Burke received the highest award for civilians with the Canadian Forces Medallion for his distinguish Service. He is recognized for the support of the troops. He is also the former Maple Leafs General Manager. After the tournament, Burke and the troops, event sponsors and directors of Maple Leaf Sports and Entrainment and the NHL alumni Association enjoyed dinner and drinks.
After the celebration at Real Sports Bar and Grill, The Canada's chief of defense staff Gen. Tom Lawson presented a medallion to Burke. He spoke of Burke's work as he presented the award, which recognizes individuals who have outstanding services performed for Canadian Forces.
