Canadian rower Mylene Paquette claims success in solo Atlantic crossing

Montrealer Mylene Paquette says she's become the first North American woman to row, alone, across the Atlantic Ocean.

After a 5,000 kilometre journey that started in Halifax 129 days ago. Paquette announced on her website Tuesday that the French coastline was in sight.

Later Today, the 35-years old is expected to reach Lorient , France where she'll be reunited with her family.

ABC's Amy Robach discovers cancer after on-air mammogram

ABC News reporter Amy Robach didn't want to get a mammogram , but it ended up saving her life.

Robach has revealed that after submitting to the procedure live on the air for 'Good Morning American's” Pink Day , she was found to have breast cancer and will now undergo a bilateral mastectomy.

“ The doctor's told me bluntly: 'That mammogram just saved your life,'

Reboch said she had never before has a mammogram and had actually put off having the procedure the procedure before a producer asked her to do it for the show. “ You're 40, the age women should start getting mammograms. “ Robach said the producer told her . “ Would you even consider it?”

Ankle injury won't sideline Manning

Peyton Manning could be limited some in practice this week, but he definitely will play in Sunday night's AFC West showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs after aggravating a previous injury to his right ankle , interim coach Jack Del Rio Said.

Manning , who was hit low by defensive end Corey Liuget in the closing minutes of Denver's 28-20 win over the San Diego Chargers , had an MRI on Monday morning. The exam showed no new damage to a high ankle sprain he suffered October 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguards.

“We did get good news that there was nothing additional , good results coming back,” Del Rio said. “[Manning] will definitely play this week. So that's good news.

There are a couple of times a year where we should take time to remember that this is the home of the free, because of the brave. Veteran's Day is one of them.

In football , you can't determine who you play. They give you the schedule and you work your way through it for better or for worse. In the military , you can't determine where you'll serve. The needs of the military take precedence. You go where they send you: for better or for worse.

Several great military that served in the Army in World War II and saw varying degrees of action. But after the 'peace' was established, many of military lives was sacrifice.

Veterans Day in an American Holiday to gave us the opportunity to give thanks to all of those that have served with us and helped us around the world.

Courtney Stodden on Breakup

After the split from her significantly older husband Doug Hutchison , aspiring singer and reality star Courtney Stodden isn'y shy in voicing her sxcitement for her newfound freedom.

Stodden was just 16 when she married Hutchison in 2011. The lost actor was 51 years old by that time, making him more that 30 years her senior.

'I'm feeling good. Obviously, any breakup is really stressful'. She said

Brittish Columbia Honour Remembrance Day

Susan Bell-Irving's father , a former Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, would rarely talk about the year he spent as a prisoner of war after his plane was shot down over Germany during the Second World War.

He was released and returned to Canada after the war ended, but for the most part , Bell-Irving says her father left those difficult memories behind in Europe.

Before he died , however, Bell-Irving's father put his stories to paper , writing 'many pages' of notes about what he went through as a soldier and then as a prisoner.

Even now , she hasn't been able to bring herself to read them all.

“He found it very difficult ,” Bell-Irving said Monday, before watching a Remembance Day ceremony in downtown Vancouver.

“They're very painful,”

Bell-Irving was among thousands of people who attended Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout British Columbia and across Canada , honouring fallen solders and veterans.
