The winner in Blood vs. Water is?

Not unlike the Bucs, Tampa’s Monica Culpepper made it to Survivor’s red zone, but victory was elusive.
Tyson Apostol, a fan favourite from seasons past, on Sunday night won Survivor: Blood vs. Water, a twist on the game that paired veteran players with loved ones, including ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneer Brad Culpepper playing with his wife, Monica, who made it to the Final 3 of the game.

Lorde Shouts Out Vampire Weekend

Lorde crossed a milestone over the weekend. The 17-year-old Pure Heroine singer took part in her first-ever Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on December 15.
Like Vampire Weekend's AMA from earlier this year, the hour-long Q&A afforded the New Zealand wunderkind a chance to crack a few decent jokes, answer questions regarding her career and personal life, and even recount the time that she met VW frontman Ezra Koenig.
The SPIN interview subject also confirmed that she'll be hitting the North American festival circuit in 2014 ("YES!,") promised that merch is on the way ("it's simple and beautiful. will feature embroidery."), and weighed in on Puddles the Clown's cover of "Royals" ("it's my FAVOURITE"). We've collected the best bits from Lorde's AMA — find them below.
And scroll down further for Lorde's 2014 U.S. tour dates. The Grammy-nominated pop siren has announced a 16-date itinerary that begins on March 3 at Austin, Texas' Austin Music Hall and ends on March 26 with a gig at the 2,800-capacity Fox Theater in Oakland, California.

Joan Fontaine died

Academy Award-winning actress Joan Fontaine, who found stardom playing naive wives in Alfred
Hitchcock’s Suspicion and Rebecca and also was featured in films by Billy Wilder, Fritz Lang and Nicholas Ray, died Sunday. She was 96.
Fontaine, the sister of fellow Oscar winner Olivia de Havilland, died in her sleep in her Carmel, California, home Sunday morning, said longtime friend Noel Beutel. Fontaine had been fading in recent days and died “peacefully,” Beutel said.

In her later years, Fontaine had lived quietly at her Villa Fontana estate south of Carmel, enjoying its spectacular view of wind-swept Point Lobos.

I’ve flown in an international balloon race. I’ve piloted my own plane. I’ve ridden to the hounds. I’ve done a lot of exciting things”

Fontaine’s pale, soft features and frightened stare made her ideal for melodrama and she was a major star for much of the 1940s. For Hitchcock, she was a prototype of the uneasy blondes played by Kim Novak in Vertigo and Tippi Hedren in The Birdsand Marnie. The director would later say he was most impressed by Fontaine’s restraint. She would credit George Cukor, who directed her in The Women, for urging her to “think and feel and the rest will take care of itself.”

Fontaine appeared in more than 30 movies, including early roles in The Women andGunga Din, the title part in Jane Eyre and in Max Ophuls’ historical drama Letter from an Unknown Woman. She was also in films directed by Wilder (The Emperor Waltz), Lang (Beyond a Reasonable Doubt) and, wised up and dangerous, in Ray’s Born to be Bad. She starred on Broadway in 1954 in Tea and Sympathy and in 1980 received an Emmy nomination for her cameo on the daytime soap Ryan’s Hope.

Milan Lucic says pub fight was 'unprovoked attack'

Boston Bruins forward and Vancouver native Milan Lucic says he may pursue legal action after allegedly being attacked by another man in downtown Vancouver after the Canucks thumped the Bruins 6-2 Saturday night.
A video posted on YouTube Sunday appears to show Lucic yelling at another man outside a city pub.

In the footage, Lucic claims the man hit him three times, but that's not shown in the video; however, there is plenty of cursing.
Lucic told reporters in Boston Monday that he was minding his own business inside the Vancouver nightclub when he became a target.

According to Joe Haggerty, reporting for Comcast Sportsnet, Lucic said he was the victim of "an unprovoked attack."

Lucic said he was struck once while inside the club and then two times once outside, as he was trying to get food. He said two of the hits were punches to the face.

He told reporters that, following this incident and other fallout from the Bruins' win in Vancouver in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, he is done trying to defend the city he is from.
"I have no reason left to defend my city and the people in my city. I'm disgusted and outraged," he said, according to Joe McDonald, a reporter with ESPNBoston.com.

"Other than being at Rogers Arena, no one will ever see me in downtown Vancouver ever again," Lucic is reported to have said.

The Vancouver Police Department told CBC News Monday morning it is not investigating the incident.

However, spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham did confirm that the force responded to an incident at Granville and Nelson streets at 4 a.m. PT Sunday morning, in which an altercation between two men was broken up.

Peter O'Toole raised hell

When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences told Peter O'Toole that he'd be receiving an honorary Oscar for a body of work that included seven best actor nominations and no wins, he surprised officials with his response.
While he would eventually accept the honor, he politely reminded academy members that he was "still in the game" and that he'd rather "win the bugger outright."
He never would. But O'Toole, 81, who died Saturday in a London hospital following a long illness, would earn an eighth nomination and cement his legend as yeoman actor, Oscar bridesmaid and poster boy for the Hollywood hell-raiser.

Rapid Reaction : Chicago Bears

A few thoughts on the Chicago Bears38-31 win over the Cleveland Brownson Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

What it means: Jay Cutler shook off a horrid beginning with three touchdown passes to go with a passer rating of 102.2 to keep the Bears in the mix in the NFC North title race. What’s more, there’s a chance the Detroit Lions could help out the Bears on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. If the Lions defeat the Ravens, they’ll remain ahead of the Bears by a half-game in the NFC North standings with just two contests left to play. But if Detroit falls, the Bears will lead the division, with a realistic shot at winning it.
Almost a statistical anomaly: Typically the Bears win games when they score defensive touchdowns. But the club nearly bucked that trend in Cleveland.
Coming into the game, the Bears had won 11 consecutive games when they scored a defensive touchdown. So when Zack Bowman helped the Bears score 14 points in just 1 minute, 41 seconds to turn a 10-3 halftime deficit into 17-10 lead with his 43-yard interception return at the 13:48 mark of the third quarter, it appeared the visitors were well on the way to yet another victory by way of a defensive score. After all, since 2005, the Bears had racked up a 25-2 record in games they scored a defensive TD. The record is now 26-2, but an offense that allowed the Browns to score two defensive touchdowns almost ruined that.
Score TDs, don’t give them up: Chicago’s offense is supposed to score touchdowns, not surrender them. But the Bears nearly negated a decent performance by the struggling defense when they granted Cleveland’s defense a couple of freebie touchdowns. Cutler started the giveaway party in the second quarter by throwing an interception that was returned 44 yards for a touchdown by Tashaun Gipson that put the Browns up 10-3.
