Ted Cruz deal

TedCruz says he wasn't elected to the Senate to stay quiet. And his refusal upon entering Congress to observe its protocol to sit back and learn like a freshman, as expected, rubbed some of his more senior colleagues the wrong way.

And while he has angered much of his party over his crusade against President Barack Obama's health care law and the potential government shutdown it could cause, Cruz says he's standing for the same principles that got him elected.

On Tuesday, he took that edict to the Senate floor in support of his plan to defund Obama care, saying he would speak "until I am nolonger able to stand."

But his marathon appearance will not do anything to block Obama care funding with a key procedural vote on the issue still scheduled for Wednesday. Instead, Cruz said his speech was to simply "make D.C. listen." see more...

FIFA 14 review

Apparently following an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" methodology, the FIFA team hasn't introduced any large, game-changing features this year. 

Heading into the next console generation, this is very much a "tune-up" year in regards to FIFA14, and for good reason: It's pretty hard to top EA Canada's efforts with the FIFA series in recent years. 

Each iteration of the soccer sim has gradually tapered off its impactful improvements, with the introduction of physics in FIFA 12 and then First Touch Control in FIFA 13.

Continuing the trend, the biggest on-field changes in FIFA14 revolve around one of the first things players will notice: The game feels a bit slower. The fact is, the game's actual speed may not be any slower than before, but the continual tweaking of passing and dribbling mechanics has lead to FIFA 14 becoming a much more methodical game than before. 

Your team's progressions seem to take a little longer since the defense plays your attackers tighter, resulting in passing lanes that are a tad harder to find. The dribbling mechanics added in FIFA 13 have been altered – no longer requiring players to hold the left trigger – and effectively performing some of the fun combinations from last year is more difficult and confusing now. see more...

Rihanna & Teyana Engage in Twitter Beef

Rihanna's Instagram landed two young men in jail only a few days ago, and the singer has already managed to create controversy over another post-- though this time intentionally. 

It all started a couple weeks back, when TeyanaTaylor posted an IG video on her own account singing Anita Baker's "Caught InThe Rapture". 

Then last night, Rihanna posted a video of her male hair stylist singing the song, mockingly dressedup as the singer.

Teyana picked up on the shade, and has since been going at Rihanna on Twitter, as well as exchanging tweets with RiRi's friend MelissaForde.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Back in Character on ' Dumb and Dumber 2' set

After many false starts and potential cancelations, filming on ‘Dumband Dumber 2‘ has begun and star Jim Carrey has revealed the first shot from the set featuring him and co-star JeffDaniels back as Harry and Lloyd.

Just over 24 hours after Jeff Daniels upset ‘Breaking Bad‘ star BryanCranston to win the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the 2013 Emmy Awards, he and Carrey are back as the dumb duo on the set of ‘Dumband Dumber 2′ in Los Angeles. And they look as stupid as ever.

The two are holding a copy of Carrey’s new children’s book ‘HowRoland Rolls’ (not-so-coincidentally in book stores today) but, as expected, are doing it all wrong.

UPDATE - Jeff Daniels has added his own shot, also seen below.

In addition to Carrey and Daniels, ‘Dumb and Dumber 2′ stars ‘Walking Dead’ star Laurie Holden, Kathleen Turner, Rachel Melvin and, yes, former hockey star Cam Neely will return as Sea Bass.

How I met Your Mother

This long-running (and, if truth be told, a little too long-running) CBS sitcom returns for its final season with a two-part episode built around Robin and Barney's wedding – and, of course, the last-minute integration into the show's comedy mix of Cristin Milioti as "TheMother" who has finally been met. Along the way, Robin and Barney discover a family secret, Barney's brother (Wayne Brady) reveals his own potentially damaging secret, and Marshall shares a plane ride to the wedding with a woman played by Sherri Shepherd.

Any CBS comedy goodwill built up by HIMYM is likely to be quickly depleted by the return of 2 Broke Girls, a show that has yet to earn its spot on the network's schedule – at least not if you're measuring by creative worth. Tonight, unexpected publicity does wonders for Max and Caroline's new cupcake walk-up window, which could at least be a positive development. If the writers have any sense, they'll move those women into their own cupcake shop pronto – dumping the diner and all of the horrible secondary characters associated with it. Hey, a similar mass supporting-actor amputation worked wonders for Newhart. It certainly couldn't hurt. see more...

Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Tell Neil Patrick Harris To 'Twerk It' During Emmys Open (VIDEO)

The Emmys managed to get a lot of funny people on stage at one time for their opening sketch, but they apparently forgot to give them anything to do. The two bright spots: Kevin Spacey's menacingmonologue from his seat, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler demanding host Neil Patrick Harris twerk for them.

Poehler deadpanning, "It might be degrading, but we would be de-grateful," may have been the moment of the night.

Miami Dolphins set up for sustained success

Yes, it was only Week 3, but it had the feel of a statement week. And no team made a bigger statement than the MiamiDolphins. No player made a bigger statement than young franchise quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

That's right: Ryan Tannehill, franchise quarterback. Get used it. And get used to the winning going on in South Florida.

The upstart Dolphins, 3-0, are one of the early stories of this 2013 NFL season.

Many (myself included) wrongly picked against Miami in every game to start the year. Opening up the season away from home, the Dolphins earned a solid, 23-10 win over the Cleveland Browns. On the road again in Week 2, Tannehill outdueled AndrewLuck, guiding the 'Fins to a 24-20 defeat of the Indianapolis Colts. And on Sunday, they showed true grit, overcoming two double-digit deficits to beat the talented (albeit injury-riddled) AtlantaFalcons, 27-23.
